BRUSSELS FOOD TRUCK FESTIVAL
The Brussels Food Truck Festival landed again in Brussels for the weekend. And what a weekend! Lots of sun and heat, it's the perfect moment to enjoy some food and drinks in the Warandepark in the center of our capital. It's so much fun to just stroll around, emerged in all those delicious smells, eat a little here and there and taste some refreshing drinks.
The hubby-to-be and I strolled around for quite some time and we didn't even notice time passing by so quickly. We tried some of the food trucks and were really quite pleased with our choices, the price to quantity-ratios were quite good. We grabbed half a pizza at Pizzaguy and ate that with a mojito - superthin crusts! - and then went on to a poutine with beef chili from The Mother Road that was sooo good- poutine is a Canadian dish with fries, gravy and cheese.
We strolled around a little more and decided to get some ice cream, because it was like 26°C and stopped by the cutest little truck from Lizzy in the Sky. I think I've never tasted ice cream this good, like seriously, that vanilla was truly the best I ever had and the strawberry just tasted like real strawberries. Honestly, if you're going tomorrow, stop by her truck, you won't regret it!
We ended our journey with a yummy passion mojito - like a normal mojito but add some mango and passion - and a refreshing iced tea from Pure Leaf.
If you don't have anything to do, the Food Truck Festival is still going strong today (Saturday the 7th of May) till 10.30pm and tomorrow from 11am until 7.30pm in the Warandepark in the center of Brussels (only a few minutes by foot from Central Station or you can exit the metro at metrostop Park).
Het Brussels Food Truck Festival is weer in Brussel geland voor het weekend. En wat een weekend! Veel zon en warmte, het is het perfecte moment om te genieten van eten en drankjes in het Warandepark in het centrum van onze hoofdstad. Het is zo leuk om rond te slenteren, omringd door al die heerlijke geuren, hier en daar wat eten en een aantal verfrissende drankjes te proeven.
De hubby-to-be en ik hebben een hele tijd rondgewandeld zonder de tijd voorbij te zien gaan. We hebben een aantal food trucks uitgeprobeerd en waren nog vrij tevreden met onze keuzes, de prijs-kwaliteit ratio's waren vrij goed. We hebben een halve pizza besteld bij Pizzaguy and hebben die opgegeten met een mojito - superdunne korsten! - en zijn dan verder gegaan met een poutine met rundschili van bij The Mother Road die echt zoooo goed was - poutine is een Canadees gerecht met frietjes, saus en kaas.
Na nog wat rondgestruind te hebben, besloten we een ijsje te halen, omdat het zo'n 26°C was en we zijn gestopt bij het suuuperschattige truckje van Lizzy in the Sky. Ik denk dat ik nog nooit zo'n lekker ijs gegeten heb, echt, het vanille-ijs was het lekkerste dat ik ooit geproefd heb en het aardbeienijs smaakte naar echte aardbeien. Eerlijk, als je morgen gaat, moet je gewoon even bij haar kraampje stoppen, je zal het je niet beklagen!
We hebben onze dag geëindigd met een yummy passion mojito - zoals een normale mojito maar met extra mango en passie - en een verfrissende ice tea van Pure Leaf.
Als je niets te doen hebt, gaat het Food Truck Festivak vanavond (zaterdag 7 mei) nog door tot 22u30 en morgen van 11uur tot 7u30 in het Warandepark in het centrum van Brussel (een paar minuutjes te voet vanaf Centraal station of met de metro uitstappen aan halte Park).
