Press days is one of my favourite times of the years, next to Christmas and my birthday. Do you really have to ask why? I get to see what will be in stores before other people and already make up my mental wish-list! I'm really grateful for this huge opportunity that's been given to me and I enjoy it every time. Plus, lots of foodies and drinks! As always, there are some items that really caught my eye and I made a little selection of some of my favourite pieces - and this is really just a small selection.

De persdagen is een van mijn favoriete tijden van het jaar, naast Kerstmis en mijn verjaardag. Moet je echt vragen waarom? Ik krijg voor andere mensen te zien wat er in de winkels gaat hangen en kan al een mentale wish-list maken! Ik ben echt dankbaar voor deze grote kans die ik krijg en ik geniet er elke keer van. Plus, veel foodies en drankjes! Zoals gewoonlijk zijn er een aantal items die me echt zijn opgevallen en ik heb een kleine selectie gemaakt van een paar van mijn favoriete stuks - en dit is echt een kleine selectie.

OPENING HANNE SCHOOFS

On November 6th jewelry designer Hanne Schoofs opened her shop. There you can find her own collection of jewels, jewels she designs and makes in her atelier. Except for these collections, you can also go to Hanne for custom jewelry and personalised wedding rings. So if you're looking for something unique for your special day, be sure to pay her a visit!

Hanne is also interested in discovering other designers and disciplines and will regularly invite a designer to show and sell his/her collection in het store as well. Her shop will look different quite regularly and will keep moving. The first designer she invites is some.thing(s) INSIDE.

Op 6 november opende juwelenontwerpster Hanne Schoofs haar winkel. Je kan er haar eigen collectie juwelen vinden, juwelen die ze zelf ontwerpt en maakt in haar atelier. Behalve deze collecties kun je bij Hanne ook terecht voor juwelen op maat en voor gepersonaliseerde trouwringen. Ben je dus op zoek naar iets uniek voor je speciale dag, ga dan zeker eens langs!

Hanne vindt het ook interessant om andere ontwerpers en disciplines te ontdekken en gaat dan ook regelmatig een ontwerper uitnodigen om zijn/haar eigen ontwerpen in haar winkel tentoon te stellen en te verkopen. REVIEW⎪CRAZY COLOR HAIR DYE

When you're young, you sometimes get a crazy idea. Or a few of them. I've had my little crazyness a few years ago when I dyed my hair red. My hair is now back to it's original ash blond kinda color with a light blond ombre - which is actually my roots grown out. It took me a while to get back, but I still have the itch to try something new. Because I didn't want to go through the entire process of bleaching, dying, growing out again I decided to just color my ends. Dip-dye it is!

My mind was set to a light blue so I went searching online. That's how I found Crazy Color. They have all kinds of, well, crazy colors, haha, going from pink to purple to blue and green. The website is very easy and they even explain online what you have to do, how to use it, how to maintain your color, etc. Very helpful for people that have a lot of questions.
I went for the Bubblegum Blue, which is quite light. I ordered it online and while the website said 5 to 10 business days delivery, it arrived earlier! So that was a great plus. 
The color is in the bottle, no need for mixing different products and that also means it's re-usable! As I'm just going for a dip-dye, I'll have a lot left so I'm happy that I don't have to throw it away.
Something a little less was that the package didn't come with gloves. As we didn't have any nearby, Shanah used her bare hands - thank you again for wanting to do it like this! - which left her with blue hands. She got most of it out the same day by washing her hands with toothpaste and lotion and all the blue was out by the day after.
We left it on for about 20 minutes and it took great on the lighter parts of my hair, but not so much on the back where my hair is darker. They do mention on the website that it is best to use it on bleached hair, so I can't really "blame" the product for this. Lesson learned I guess.
I've been washing my hair as I always do, which means about every other day with my regular products. As it is semi-permanent, it washes out. After a week the color was already lighter, but still quite visible. The second week the color faded more and more and by the end of that week the color was almost out, it became pastel-ish. This lasted for about a week to a week and a half, which is also not bad, haha. Three to four weeks is almost exactly what I wanted, so I'm very happy with how long it lasted!

All in all I was quite happy with the result. It looked even better than I hoped and the color was as light as I had in mind. I probably will do it again, but then I will provide gloves. And it's certainly not the price that will hold me back!

Als je jong bent, krijg je soms een gek idee. Of een aantal. Ik heb mijn gekkigheid een paar jaar geleden gehad toen ik mijn haar rood gekleurd heb. Mijn haar is nu weer naar zijn oorspronkelijke asblond-achtige kleur met een lichte ombre - die eigenlijk mijn uitgroei is. Ik heb er lang over gedaan om terug te gaan, maar het jeukt nog steeds om iets nieuws te proberen. Omdat ik niet opnieuw door het hele proces wou gaan van ontkleuren, kleuren en uitgroeien, besloot ik om enkel mijn uiteindes te kleuren. Dip-dye it is!

Ik had mijn zinnen gezet op lichtblauw dus ging ik online zoeken. Zo vond ik Crazy Color. Ze hebben allerlei gekke kleuren gaande van roze naar paars naar blauw en groen. De website is heel gemakkelijk en ze leggen ook online uit wat je moet doen, hoe je het moet gebruiken, hoe je je kleur behoudt, etc. Heel behulpzaam voor mensen met veel vragen.
Ik ging voor Bubblegum Blue, dat vrij licht is. Ik bestelde het online en terwijl de website zei 5 tot 10 werkdagen levering, kwam het vroeger toe! Dus dat was een groot pluspunt.
De kleur bevindt zich in de fles, het is dus niet nodig om verschillende producten te mengen en dat betekent ook dat het herbruikbaar is! Aangezien ik enkel voor een dip-dye ga, ga ik veel overhebben dus ik ben blij dat ik het niet weg hoef te gooien.
Wat minder was, was dat het pakje zonder handschoenen kwam. Aangezien we er geen bij de in de buurt hadden liggen, heeft Shanah haar blote handen gebruikt - nog eens bedankt om het zo te willen doen! - waardoor ze achteraf blauwe handen had. Ze heeft het meeste er de dag zelf uitgekregen door haar handen te wassen met tandpasta en lotion en alles was er de volgende dag uit.
We hebben het ongeveer 20 minuten laten intrekken en het heeft geweldig gepakt op de lichtere stukken van mijn haar, maar minder aan de achterkant waar mijn haar donkerder is. Ze vermelden wel op de website dat je het best gebruikt op ontkleurd of gebleekt haar, dus ik kan het product hier niet echt "de schuld van geven". Lesje geleerd denk ik.
Ik heb mijn haar gewassen zoals ik altijd doe. Omdat het semi-permanent is, wast het uit. Na een week was de kleur al lichter, maar nog steeds vrij zichtbaar. De tweede week vervaagde de kleur meer en meer, het werd pastelachtig. Dit duurde een week tot anderhalve week, wat ook niet slecht is, haha. Drie tot vier weken is bijna exact wat ik wou, dus ik ben heel blij met hoe lang het geduurd heeft!

In het algemeen ben ik vrij blij met het resultaat. Het zag er beter uit dan ik hoopte en de kleur was even licht als wat ik in gedachten had. Ik ga het waarschijnlijk opnieuw doen, maar dan ga ik handschoenen voorzien. En het is zeker niet de prijs die me gaat tegenhouden!

RECIPE⎪SURPRISE ROUND ZUCCHINIS

Filled veggies is one of my favorite dishes because it's a twist of the regular veggies and meat. I used to always fill paprikas, but I kind off got tired of that. So when I found these absolutely adorable round zucchinis, I just couldn't resist buying them.

Ingredients:
1 zucchini per person
Gorgonzola
Grated mozzarella
Tagliatelle
Cream and tomato concentrate or regular tomato sauce
Minced meat
Salt
Pepper
1 egg
Nutmeg
Breadcrumbs

Preparation:
Preheat your oven at 200°C.
Start by cutting off the top of the zucchini and then emptying it with a spoon. Then put it aside to prepare your minced meat.
If you don't like dirty hands, call in the help of someone who doesn't mind for this part ;-). Put the meat in a bowl and add an egg, pepper, salt, nutmeg and breadcrumbs. Mix it all together by using your hands until you have a whole.
Put a first layer of minced meat in your emptied zucchini, up to you how thick that layer is. Then place some gorgonzola onto the meat, again up to you how much you use depending on how strong you want the taste to be and how much cheese you want. Fill up the rest of the zucchini with the rest of your meat. If you have some left, you could make some meatballs or bake it and add it to the sauce a little later like you would with bolognese. Place the zucchinis in an ovenproof dish.
Now there are two choices: either you use regular tomato sauce which you can just pour over the zucchinis in the dish, or you opt for the creamy tomato sauce. For the second one you first mix your cream and tomato concentrate in a pot and then pour it over the zucchinis. You can also add some gorgonzola to the sauce, obviously you have to heat your cream and concentrate for the cheese to melt. I recommend seasoning both.
Sprinkle some grated mozzarella over your sauce and zucchinis. Put the dish in the oven for about 45 minutes.
While the zucchinis are in the oven, prepare your tagliatelle as mentionned on the packaging - cook some salted water, add the pasta and let cook for the appropriate amount of minutes.
Serve everything together and bon appétit!


Gevulde groenten is een van mijn favoriete gerechten omdat het een twist is van de gewone groenten en vlees. Ik vulde altijd paprika's, maar ik werd het een beetje beu. Dus toen ik deze superschattige ronde courgettes vond, kon ik niet anders dan ze te kopen.

Ingrediënten:
1 courgette per persoon
Gorgonzola
Geraspte mozzarella
Tagliatelle
Room en tomatenconcentraat of gewone tomatensaus
Gehakt
Zout
Peper
1 ei
Nootmuskaat
Paneermeel

Bereiding:
Verwarm de oven voor op 200°C.
Begin met het topje van de courgette af te snijden en deze dan leeg te schrapen met een lepel. Leg het dan opzij om je gehakt klaar te maken.
Als je niet van vieze handen houdt, roep dan de hulp in van iemand die dit niet erg vindt voor dit deel ;-)/ Leg het gehakt in een kom en voeg een ei toe, peper, zout, nootmuskaat en paneermeel. Meng alles met je handen tot je een geheel hebt.
Leg een eerste laag gehakt in je holle courgette, je mag zelf kiezen hoe dik deze laag is. Plaats dan wat gorgonzola op het vlees, opnieuw kies je zelf hoeveel je gebruikt afhankelijk van hoe sterk je de smaak wilt en hoeveel kaas je wilt. Vul de courgette verder op met de rest van je gehakt. Als je over hebt, kun je gehaktballetjes maken of opbakken en wat later aan de saus toevoegen zoals je bij bolognese zou doen. Leg de courgettes in een ovenbestendige schaal.
Nu heb je twee keuzes: ofwel gebruik je gewone tomatensaus die je gewoon over de courgettes kan gieten in de schaal ofwel ga je voor de romige tomatensaus. Voor optie twee moet je eerst room en tomatenconcentraat in een kom vermengen en het dan pas over de courgettes gieten. Je kan ook gorgonzola aan de saus toevoegen, hiervoor moet je natuurlijk eerst de room en het concentraat verhitten zodat de kaas kan smelten. Ik raad aan om beiden te kruiden.
Strooi wat geraspte mozzarella over je saus en courgettes. Zet de schaal in de oven gedurende ongeveer 45 minuten.
Terwijl de courgettes in de oven staan, maak je je tagliatelle klaar zoals op de verpakking staat - kook wat gezouten water, voeg de pasta toe en laat dit gedurende het juiste aantal minuten koken.
Dien alles samen op en bon appétit!

VANS X DISNEY

When I think of collaborations with Disney, I usually imagine something quite childish with lots of bright colors. When I think of Vans, I imagine something more edgy and tough. How are those two going to collaborate? I really couldn't imagine what it would look like.

How surprised I was to see that this Young at heart-collection kept the edgyness of Vans with the playful touches of some of our favorite Disney-characters. The classic duo Mickey and Minnie is of course very much present, but they also thought of Donald Duck, Pluto, Goofy and Winnie De Poeh! The collection consists of a few items going from shoes to clothes and accessories. Disney brings out the best childhood memories and to keep the memory going, there are also a few kids items!

Wanneer ik denk aan samenwerkingen met Disney, beeld ik mij meestal iets vrij kinderachtig in met veel felle kleuren. Wanneer ik denk aan Vans, beeld ik mij iets in dat meer edgy en stoer is. Hoe deze twee gaan samenwerken? Ik kon mij echt niet voorstellen hoe het er uit zou zien.

There are many novelties in the great lifestyle world. From time to time I'll share something that caught my eye. This time, I'm talking bags.

Over the years I developed a little bagfever. Only problem is that I always fall for the really expensive ones. But then I discovered Herschel Supply. The Canadian brand was founded in 2009, so not too long ago and definetely won me over. They have different kinds of bags, going from
 backpacks and duffles to messenger bags and totes - they also have other accessories like beanies, laptop sleeves, wallets, caps and pouches.

Their bags are simple and all round with fun colors for spring and summer. Most of the bags are plain with one or two colors, but sometimes they have fun prints that are quite soft. I'm so in love and I'll order one very soon!
Unfortunately the official website only delivers to Canada, Mexico, the United States and some US territories. But there are other websites that do deliver them to Europe, so no worries for the fans!

Er zijn veel nieuwigheden in de grote lifestyle wereld. Van tijd tot tijd zal ik iets delen dat mij is opgevallen. Deze keer heb ik het over tassen.

Doorheen de jaren heb ik een kleine taskoorts ontwikkeld. Enige probleem is dat ik altijd voor de heel dure val. Maar toen ontdekte ik Herschel Supply. Het Canadese merk is opgericht in 2009, dus nog niet zo heel lang geleden en heeft mij compleet voor zich gewonnen. Ze hebben verschillende soorten tassen, gaande van rugzakken en duffles tot messengers en totes - ze hebben ook andere accessoires zoals mutsen, laptop hoezen, portefeuilles, petten en buideltasjes.

Hun tassen zijn simpel en all round met leuke kleuren voor lente en zomer. De meeste tassen zijn effen met één of twee kleuren, maar soms hebben ze leuke prints die vrij zacht zijn. Ik ben echt zo verliefd en ik ga heel binnenkort een bestellen!

REVIEW⎪GARNIER MIRACLE SKIN CREAM

Now that life is becoming more serious, it's also time to do some serious anti-aging things. I'm not talking about bungee-jumping - although that is on my bucketlist. I'm talking about skin creams. I got this Garnier product a little while ago and thought it was time to put it to the test.

Miracle Skin Cream corrects the signs of getting older from the first use on and makes your skin radiate again. It makes your complexion smoother, more luminous and even. On the long term it reduces all signs of aging like wrinkles, spots and lines. Your skin is firmer and looks younger.

I always first try a product on my hand to try out the texture and feeling before applying it on my face. I noticed the cream wasn't entirely white, it looked like there was something foundation-like mixed to it. Even though I wasn't too happy about that, I smeared it out and it dissappeared entirely. Thank god!
First application felt quite fresh, but you really have to smear it out so the "foundation" doesn't leave marks or brown spots. It kinda felt weird to me paying attention to this as I never wear foundation or anything, so I kept looking in mirrors all day to make sure I really didn't forget a spot or to make sure I wasn't orange-y. Which I wasn't and after I got used to it I felt like this cream did help make me look healthier - as in looking less pale, haha! My boyfriend didn't quite like the smell, but I didn't agree with him. Maybe the smell changes after you put it on, I don't know, but I do know I'll keep using this!

Nu het leven wat serieuzer wordt, is het ook tijd om wat serieuze antiverouderingsdingen te doen. Ik heb het niet over bungeejumpen - hoewel dat wel op mijn bucketlist staat. Ik heb het over huidcrèmes. Ik kreeg dit Garnier product een tijdje geleden en dacht dat het tijd was om het eens uit te testen.

Miracle Skin Cream corrigeert de tekenen van ouder worden vanaf het eerste gebruik en laat je huid weer stralen. Het maakt je teint gladder, stralender en egaler. Bij langdurig gebruik vermindert het alle ouderdomstekenen zoals rimpels, vlekken en lijnen. Je huid is strakker en ziet er jonger uit.

Ik probeer een product altijd eerst uit op mijn hand om de textuur en het gevoel te testen voor ik het op mijn gezicht aanbreng. Ik merkte dat de crème niet helemaal wit was, het leek of er iets foundation-achtig vermengd was. Ook al was ik hier niet blij om, smeerde ik het uit en het verdween helemaal. Gelukkig maar!
De eerste aanbreng voelde vrij fris, maar je moet echt goed uitsmeren zodat de "foundation" geen strepen of bruine vlekken achter laat. Het voelde een beetje raar voor mij om hier aandacht aan te besteden aangezien ik nooit foundation of iets anders draag, ik bleef dus de hele dag in spiegels kijken om zeker te zijn dat ik echt geen plek vergeten was of om zeker te zijn dat ik niet oranje was. Wat ik niet was en nadat ik er gewoon aan geworden was, had ik wel het gevoel dat deze crème me hielp om er gezonder uit te zien - als in minder bleek, haha! Mijn vriend vond de geur niet echt lekker, maar ik was het niet met hem eens. Misschien verandert de geur nadat je het aangebracht hebt, ik zou het niet weten, maar ik weet wel dat ik het ga blijven gebruiken!

RECIPE⎪STRAWBERRY BLONDIES

Baking is something I always kind of put off. Why? Well, because it's something that can go wrong easily and I don't like throwing away food. One slight mistake and your lovely idea is ruined. But not with this recipe!
This is the first cake I've ever made myself and it's so easy peasy I made it again a few times since. It also doesn't take a lot of time to prepare. You just can't go wrong with this.
Ingredients: 
250 grams white chocolate 
3 medium eggs 
200 grams flower 
1 bag of vanillasugar 
1 ts baking powder 
150 grams sugar 
200 grams of unsalted butter 
A few strawberries 

Preparation: 
Preheat the oven at 180°C.
Cut your butter in cubes. Break 150 grams of chocolate into pieces. Put both into a heatproof bowl and let it melt au bain-marie (e.g. above a pot of boiling water) - you can also use a microwave, but you'll have less control of the melting process. Once everything is melted, you can remove the pot from the heat.
Whisk your eggs until foam with a mixer. Then add the sugar and vanilla sugar and mix until you get a kind of mousse.
Use a spatula to blend in the melted butter and chocolate mixture. It is quite normal if you do not get it quite right, this is due to the fat of the butter.
Stir the sifting flour and baking powder through until you get one beautiful whole.
Crumble the rest of your chocolate and mix it into the batter - skip this step if you don't like having little pieces of chocolate in your cake.
Cut the strawberries into pieces and add as many as you want.
Grease your baking pan or baking sheet with butter. Pour the batter into the tin, it will smoothen by itself. Now you can put your cake in the oven for 45 to 55 minutes.
And now, enjoy!

P.S. The strawberries can be replaced by other fruit such as raspberries.
Bakken is iets dat ik altijd nogal uitstelde. Waarom? Wel, omdat het iets is dat zo gemakkelijk verkeerd kan gaan en ik hou niet van eten weggooien. Eén klein foutje en je prachtige idee is verpest. Maar niet met dit recept!
Dit is de eerste cake die ik ook zelf gemaakt heb en het is zo easy peasy dat ik het al een paar keer opnieuw gedaan heb sindsdien. Het vraagt ook niet veel voorbereidingstijd. Je kunt hier niets verkeerd mee doen.

Ingedriënten: 
250 gram witte chocolade 
3 medium eieren 
200 gram bloem 
1 zakje vanillesuiker 
1 tl bakpoeder 
150 gram suiker 
200 gram ongezouten boter 
Een aantal aardbeien 

Bereiding:
Warm de oven voor op 180°C.
Snijd de boter in blokjes. Breek 150 gram chocolade in stukken. Voeg deze twee samen in een hittebestendige kom en laat ze smelten au bain-marie (e.g. boven een pot kokend water) - je kan ook een microgolfoven gebruiken maar dan heb je minder controle over het smeltproces. Zodra alles gesmolten is, haal je de pot van het vuur.
Klop je eieren tot schuim met de mixer. Voeg dan de suiker en vanillesuiker toe en mix tot je een soort mousse krijgt. Spatel er vervolgens je gesmolten boter en chocolade mengsel door. Het is heel normaal als je dit niet helemaal goed krijgt, dit komt door het vet van de boter.
Roer er nu al zevend de bloem en het bakpoeder door tot je één mooi geheel krijgt.
Verbrokkel de rest van je chocolade en meng dit door het beslag - sla deze stap over als je niet van stukjes chocolade in je cake houdt.
Snijdt de aardbeien in stukken en voeg er zoveel toe als je zelf wilt.
Smeer je bakvorm of je bakpapier in met boter. Giet het beslag in de vorm en strijk glad. Je cake kan nu de oven in voor 45 tot 55 minuten.
En dan nu, genieten maar!

 P.S. De aarbeien kun je vervangen door ander fruit zoals bijvoorbeeld frambozen.

REVIEW⎪YVES ROCHER PURE CALMILLE

Now that we're showing more and more skin, it's important to keep it fresh and hydrated. I don't really have a dry skin, but in the morning it's a little colder and then I like to use some cream as some sort of extra protecting layer. You know, just to not feel the cold as much.

In comes the Pure Calmille All Over Cream. Yes, you read that right, all over. You can use this Yves Rocher product on your face and on your body! To be honest, I'm a bit skeptical about these kinds of creams, because the skin on your face doesn't always react the same way as that of the rest of your body. Time to put it to the test.

The cream looks quite thick but actually smears quite well. You don't have to use a lot which means it will last longer - happy wallet! And happy noses, because it kinda smells like babycream.

I use the cream mostly on my legs to keep them soft and hydrates, as they are the part that I uncover the most. Pure Calmille isn't sticky and immediatly blends with your skin, but without disappearing. So you do feel you put cream on your legs, but in a non-sticky way. And it lasts all day!
I hesitated a while to try it as a facecream. It just feels a bit strange to me to use the same product for my body and my face. But for the sake of the blog, I did. The cream feels a bit too thick for my face, as I don't really have a dry skin, I always use light creams. So this one is for when I have a really dry spot - which happens sometimes in winter - but that will be it.
So in conclusion, I love it for my body but I'm not going to use it on my face. I do think that if you dó have a dry skin, it is suitable for your skin.

 Nu we steeds meer huid laten zien, is het belangrijk om deze fris en gehydrateerd te houden. Ik heb niet echt een droge huid, maar 's ochtends is het wat frisser en dan gebruik ik graag een crème als een soort extra beschermende laag. Je weet wel, om de kou niet zo te voelen.

Hier komt de Pure Calmille All Over Cream. Ja, je leest het juist, all over. Je kan dit Yves Rocher product gebruiken op je gezicht en op je lichaam! Om eerlijk te zijn ben ik een beetje sceptisch over dit soort crèmes, omdat de huid van je gezicht niet altijd op dezelfde manier reageert als die van de rest van je lichaam. Tijd om dit eens uit te testen.

De crème ziet er vrij dik uit maar smeert eigenlijk goed uit. Je moet dus niet veel gebruiken wat betekent dat je er langer mee zal doen - happy wallet! En happy noses, omdat het een beetje ruikt naar babycrème.

Ik gebruik de crème vooral op mijn benen om ze zacht en gehydrateerd te houden, aangezien ze het deel zijn dat ik het vaakst niet bedek. Pure Calmille is niet plakkerig en trekt meteen in je huid, maar zonder te verdwijnen. Je voelt dus echt dat je crème aan hebt, maar op een niet-plakkerige manier. En dit gedurende de hele dag!
Ik heb een tijd getwijfeld om het als gezichtscrème te gebruiken. Ik vind het raar om eenzelfde product te gebruiken voor zowel je lichaam als je gezicht. Maar voor de blog heb ik heb toch gedaan. De crème voelt een beetje te dik voor mijn gezicht, aangezien ik niet echt een droge huid heb, gebruik ik altijd lichte crèmes. Dus deze is voor wanneer ik echt een droog plekje heb - wat soms gebeurt in de winter - maar meer niet. Ik denk wel dat als je wél een drogere huid hebt, hij wel geschikt is voor je gezicht.
Dus samengevat, ik hou ervan voor mijn lichaam maar ik ga het niet op mijn gezicht gebruiken.
